Welcome

qI4B2sbIMy name is Conor Lane and I’m a senior majoring in journalism at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. All my life, I have known that I want to be a storyteller. I want to be involved with the creation, unfurling, and promotion of brilliant stories. I am hard-working, smart, creative, funny, and willing to do whatever it takes to succeed.

I received a scholarship to the BFA program in the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University, but I have since changed my major to Journalism because I wanted more of an opportunity to write, and I continue to write poetry, short stories, and blogs in my spare time. Last summer, I served as a marketing intern for Spritz Marketing. Based in San Francisco, I developed and published daily content for client’s social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest); drafted creative briefs for the digital design team and developed advertisements for the SF Chronicle and WHERE Magazine; drafted and published several blog posts for Spritz’ website; developed content and created a landing page for Scoma’s Restaurant 50th Anniversary sweepstakes using Wishpond.com

As a journalist, I have helped produce for SMU-TV’s daily student-run news broadcast, The Daily Updateand host, develop content for, and write stories for the Daily Update’s weekly segment of “Real Talk” – a talk show meant to help millennials learn more about the political process.

My goal upon graduation in May of 2016 is to pursue a career as a journalist and/or talk show host.

Thank you for visiting my online portfolio. For further information, please take a look at my resume – and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
